Around the clock
Telscombe Cliffs sits up on the clifftop with the Channel on one side and open downland behind, and a power cut on a wet winter night feels a good deal worse in an exposed spot like that. CK Electrical answers the phone 24 hours a day, every day of the year, nights, weekends and bank holidays included, for homes and for the businesses along the main road.
An emergency visit starts with finding out what actually failed. That may be a damaged cable, a failed appliance pulling the RCD out, water where it should not be, or a loose connection in the fuse board itself. We test rather than guess, make the installation safe, and explain what has been found, what can be put right on the visit and what needs a return with parts.
The businesses here are small ones serving the streets around them, so a day with the shutters down is trade that does not simply arrive the following week, and a warm night costs stock as well. That is the reason we work nights, weekends and bank holidays. Emergency work carries a call out fee and then an hourly rate, both of which you are told before anything starts.
What we do
24/7Available 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, with a fast response across the South East. We make the installation safe first, then explain the repair and the cost before any work starts.

Learn morePlanned and preventative
A clifftop position means the weather arrives with nothing in its way. Salt carried on the wind works into outside lights, garden sockets, external consumer units and the enclosures on car charging points, and corroded terminals show as intermittent faults long before anything looks wrong from the pavement. When we replace gear outdoors we use equipment rated for that exposure and take care over the glands and seals.
Planned work here runs from a landlord who needs an EICR before a tenancy starts to a household swapping a fuse board with rewirable fuses for one with RCBOs. We also fit smoke and heat alarms, extra sockets and circuits, lighting upgrades, solar panels, car charging points and full rewires, on domestic, commercial and industrial installations alike, and everything we install is tested and certified.
Telscombe Cliffs runs straight into Peacehaven one way and Saltdean the other, and we cover that whole stretch of coast and the downland villages inland, so planned work can usually be booked at a time that suits the property: before opening, after closing, or a quiet weekday. Anything that means switching the supply off is agreed first. We are family run, Part P registered and insured, and certification is supplied.
Our process
You can call us at any hour, every day of the year, including bank holidays. In an emergency we ask what has stopped working and whether anything is hot, sparking or smelling of burning, and tell you what to switch off until we arrive. Booked work, from a landlord certificate to solar panels or EV charging, starts on the same call.
A Part P registered and fully insured engineer attends and makes the installation safe before anything else. Where there is a risk, the affected circuit or your fuse board is isolated, and anything that cannot be put right straight away is left in a safe condition. Planned work follows the same rule: circuits are proved dead before they are worked on.
We work from readings rather than assumptions. Testing can include continuity, insulation resistance, polarity, earth fault loop impedance and RCD testing. The results show where a fault sits, what an installation can safely take, and whether a problem is inside your property or on the incoming supply, which belongs to the distribution network operator and is reported free on 105.
Before any repair or installation begins, we explain the options: what needs doing now, what can safely wait, and whether repair or replacement is the sensible choice. Quotes are free and carry no obligation, and nothing goes ahead until you agree the price, so there are no call-out surprises. If parts or a return visit are needed, we tell you then.
The same qualified engineers who took your call carry out the work, whether that is an overnight repair, a fuse board replacement, new lighting, smoke and heat alarms, a rewire, an inspection, solar panels or an EV charging point. It is done to the current wiring regulations, with cables and accessories fixed securely and neatly, and disruption kept to a minimum.
Before we leave, the work is tested and checked in operation, and the working area is left tidy. You are told plainly what was done and anything worth keeping an eye on. Certification is supplied where the work calls for it, so you hold a written record of what was carried out and the results of the testing.
